As we journey through life’s sacred rhythms, there are moments that call us to pause and honor the divine energies within us. Today, I invite you to reflect on the divine masculine that resides within you, and within the men who have shaped your life. Whether it is your father, a father figure, or the powerful force of masculine energy that flows through all of us, this is a moment to honor, heal, and celebrate the divine masculine within.
At Elemental Black Woman, we recognize the infinite strength, wisdom, and resilience that resides in you. You are an embodiment of ancestral power, a living expression of love, and transformation. As you walk through your day, I invite you to remember the truth that you are both the creator and the creation, holding space for your own healing, as well as the collective healing of those around you. The gifts you possess—whether seen or unseen—are woven into the fabric of the universe, and there is no greater moment than now to embrace your worth.
The Divine Masculine and the Body
The divine masculine energy is deeply connected to certain areas of the body that reflect strength, stability, and power. These body parts represent the masculine qualities of structure, grounded action, protection, and resilience.
Chest: The chest is where the heart’s courage, leadership, and strength reside. It is the area that holds the energy of protection, care, and stability. Open your chest to embody these qualities and feel the expansive power of the divine masculine.
Shoulders: Broad, open shoulders symbolize the strength to bear burdens and provide stability. They carry responsibility and resilience, offering support to others while staying grounded in your own power.
Spine: The spine is the core of your physical alignment and structure. It represents the backbone of discipline, determination, and the ability to stand tall with courage and stability as you move forward.
Solar Plexus (Core): The solar plexus, located just above your navel, is the seat of personal power and confidence. It is where your will and drive reside—the place from which you take action with clarity and purpose.
Somatic Exercises for Embodying the Divine Masculine
Here are some exercises and yoga poses to help you reconnect with the divine masculine energy within you:
Chest Opener Pose (Modified Cobra or Heart-Opening Stretch)
How to do it: Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart. Place your hands on your lower back, fingers pointing downward. Gently press your hips forward and lift your chest upward, opening your heart space. Allow your shoulders to drop back as you take deep breaths, feeling your chest expand with each inhale.
Intention: This pose opens the chest and heart center, empowering you to embody love, courage, and leadership.
Warrior I Pose (Virabhadrasana I)
How to do it: Step one foot forward, bending the front knee, while keeping the back leg straight with the heel pressing into the floor. Extend your arms overhead, reaching upwards with strength.
Intention: This pose strengthens your core, opens your chest, and embodies stability, focus, and inner power—the divine masculine standing tall in action.
Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
How to do it: Stand with your feet hip-width apart, arms by your sides, and engage your legs and core. Lengthen through your spine, standing tall and rooted like a mountain. Focus on your breath and feel the power and strength rising from the earth up through your body.
Intention: This foundational pose enhances your connection to the earth, grounding you while cultivating a sense of strength, discipline, and stability in the present moment.
Standing Backbend (Standing Camel Pose)
How to do it: Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Place your hands on your lower back and gently lean back, opening your chest towards the sky. Keep your knees slightly bent for support and breathe deeply into the space you create.
Intention: This pose stretches the chest and shoulders while embodying the qualities of strength, confidence, and emotional openness.
Solar Plexus Activation (Breath of Fire or Kapalabhati)
How to do it: Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight. Begin a rapid, rhythmic breath through the nose, drawing your belly in sharply with each exhale. Let the breath flow naturally in and out, focusing on the activation of your solar plexus area.
Intention: This breathing technique stimulates your core energy, strengthening your willpower and cultivating confidence and personal power.
